Sunday Summary

Yet another week has come and gone, and for me, it's been a nice and fairly relaxing one.
Monday I overslept - and I hated myself for it! I hate to get up to late and miss whatever I have planned, and Monday I missed school. Luckily for my counted attendance, it was the shortest day of the week, so I only ended up missing two hours - but still, I just hate it.

Tuesday was chem day. I really struggle with chem, so I never look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Well, yes I kind of do, but that's only because I share a few laughs with Maria in the morning and then later in the day too. But this Tuesday, Maria (for once) didn't come by for morning coffee. But it was a-ok; I used the time to sleep a little longer and have breakfast and coffee. Anyway, chem was actually okay this time. We did some experiments and had a lot of fun. In my experience, 6 months courses aren't the most fun, socially speaking. People don't quite bother to get to know one another, since they're only together for 6 months and then they're moving on. But I actually feel that our chem class - in spite of it being a 6 month course - is actually coming together a bit. People are talking and laughing with each other, so that's a least something.
That very same night my dad stopped by. I cooked him some dinner and we had a nice couple of hours together before he drove on home to my mum.

I've had the rest of the week off, because our teachers are in London - lucky bastards!
Wednesday I had plans to go to a party with some of the girls from school, but I ended up staying home cause I didn't feel well.

Thursday I still felt a little weird, so I slept in for a couple of hours - and then a couple of more hours on my couch. Finally in the evening, I attended a meeting to get our buses back in the neighborhood. I did an outfit post the very same day; you can find it here.

Friday I felt horribly sick, but I was determined to get up and bike to town, where I had some things to buy. So after a 20 minute long and very hot shower, I dressed in layers and a thick scarf and traveled to town, where I bought new lovely things for my home. I ended up spending a bit more than planned, but I don't regret my purchases at all.

Yesterday I spend the whole day inside, wrapped in a blanket and with endless cups of tea with honey. Even though I felt a bit worse for wear, I ended up enjoying myself quite a bit. I watched a whole lot of Disney movies from my childhood, and I also managed to get some laundry done and clean the apartment a bit. However, I don't feel any better, haha.

So that was this week. I'm still pretty sick,
so today will be yet another day under the covers with tea and cigarettes.
I hope you all had a great week, and that the next will be just as good :)

Red Cups, Purple Glasses & Black Candlesticks

Yesterday I rode my bike to town, where I had some errands to run. Earlier this week I took a stroll around town after classes, and I stumbled upon loads of pretty things for the home. But back then I didn't have enough money. But with it being pay day and all yesterday, I figured I was allowed to buy just a couple of the things I had fallen in love with.

I bought these lovely red coffee cups in my new favorite shop called Korsbæk. I've walk past the shop every day for a long time now, but never actually entered. But when I did, I discovered that it was the shop for me. They have loads of different retro//vintage inspired tings for the home; among them these cute, red cups. These cups weren't as expensive as most of the other things in the shop, and since I already had fallen in love with them some days before, I figured it was okay to treat myself.

Then I went to Tigeren which is right across from Korsbæk, where I bought these cool purple glasses. They were very, very, very cheap, so I decided to buy 6 of them.

And then lastly I went to Kvickly where I had seen a couple of robust candlesticks. They were a tad more expensive than I thought, but I don't regret buying them. I had planned on just paring them with a couple of normal block candles, but then I discovered these cute candles with a nice print on them, and they were on sale, so... yeah :)

So yes, I did spend a little more than I had planned, but they're all great purchases, so I don't regret it at all.

I Don't Really Have A Good Line For This Post, But It's An Outfit Post

Just a little outfit post before I'm heading out. Tonight I'm going to a local meeting to get our buses back. Yes; last year they took all of the convenient buses away from my neighborhood, witch now means I have to ride my bike to where ever I'm going. Not such a big deal now, but when the Danish winter strikes, it's gonna suck. So tonight I'm supporting getting our buses back in black clothes and red hearts :)

- If any of you are wondering: The jeans are from New Look, the t-shirt from Lindex,
the cardigan from Evans (Clements Ribeiro for Evans) and the feet are my own ;)

Sunday Summary

It seems like, lately, the blog is a bit on and off. One week I can't get enough of blogging, and the next I can't find the time for it. This week has been one of the latter, but yesterday I finally managed to grab my camera and take a few pictures. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
The week started out with a day off from school. I didn't do much else than watch a lot of Desperate Housewives and getting ready for a new week.

Tuesday started out good. Maria came by for morning coffee, and we shared a lot of laughs. But then the day started to go a bit in the wrong direction. I just couldn't get anything right in chem, and my mood started to get worse. Finally I just decided that enough was enough, and gave up. Maria was great though; she's a genius at math and chem, and she has really helped me a lot since we started the class. After class we drove home to my place again for a quick cup o' joe and ciggys, and then when she went home, I decided that I simply couldn't accept the zigzaggy turn the day had taken - a little up and then a little down and then the same over and over again - so I found my chem book, my lab notebooks and just went at it. I read up on all the things I didn't understand, watched a lot of videos and wrote a whole lot of notes. Then I re-wrote all of the notes I've taken in class, and got my stuff organized. I ended up spending 7 hours, but when the day was finally over, I really felt that I had done something worthwhile. And it turned out that it did me some good...

... Thursday, where I rocked in chem. Okay, "rocked" may be overstating it a little, but I can honestly say that I've never left a chem lesson feeling that good. So all my hard work turned out to be totally worthwhile.

Friday I went to Psychology. It seemed like the clock was broken, but when we finally stopped for the day, I was going to meet Marie and Simon for "Fredags Café" - loosely translated "Friday Café". Every Friday students meet up in the canteen and drink beer, listen to music, play fuse ball and drink more beer. Normally I don't go, but I felt like having some fun. I just had to make a quick stop at Bahne, where I bought the nicest, prettiest and warmest slippers in the world. As I was unlocking my bike, Marie and Simon walked by. Turned out there weren't that many people at Fredags Café, so in stead me and Marie helped Simon grocery shopping for a party.

Yesterday I was in a very handy mood and decided to do something about it. So I drilled some holes in my kitchen wall and hung a magnetic knife strip. I know it's not that handy, but I always feel a bit proud when I've done something handy at home all by myself. I also hung some pictures, hung a rag of hooks, cleaned out the cabinets, did a bit of re-arranging of my kitchen supplies and cleaned. But I wasn't done yet, so I went out in my hallway and cleaned up there too. For a Saturday I think I was pretty productive, haha.

So that's my week in writing.
Now off to something less fun; doing my homework for tomorrow.
Have a lovely Sunday, superstars :)

Soft Saturday: Four Things Right Now

Today I got up early and felt very handy and ready for change. So I found the drill my dad had given me for my birthday a couple of weeks back, some other tools and just started drilling into the wall in my kitchen. I didn't just do it to do something though; yesterday evening when I was bored and cleaned out my kitchen, I found a magnetic "strip" for my knifes, that I just never got around to hang. So that was my purpose today; to make some (small) changes in my kitchen.

Since I had taken down some hooks right above the knife strip, there were some pretty nasty holes in my wall. I had to cover them up somehow, and that was when I found these old postcards I collected when I was a teenager. I framed them and hung them over the holes in the wall, and now I have naked men in my kitchen. At least there's something nice to look at when I'm doing the dishes ;)

Still in the kitchen: I found this old rack of hooks that I've actually had since I was a girl. I remember them hanging on my wall in my room, and somehow they've followed me through my childhood, my teens and now into my twenties. I thought it would be kind of funny to still have them displayed in my house, so I found a place for them on my kitchen wall. They've actually come in handy, as I now have a place to hang my dishrags and oven mitts.

And finally; let's move out of the kitchen. Yesterday after school, I bought these wonderful, cute and comfy slippers. Well, actually I bought two pairs, as I predicted I would wear them constantly when at home. Well, score one for me; since I put them on my feet yesterday, they've only come of twice. I'd say I've struck gold here :)

Asos Discount Code

Hello hello out there, and sorry for being so quiet this week. There will, as always, be a new Sunday Summary tomorrow, but otherwise this week has been slow - at the blog at least. Only one post, and that was a discount code. But hey; they're pretty nice, right? :)

Sunday Summary

I've had the week off from school this week, so mainly I've been home and enjoying a break.
Monday I rode my bike to the town, where I bought lots of new stuff for the home. I had to pay a pretty penny, but the end result is sooo good :) You can see what I bought here.

Wednesday I decided to spend some of my free time doing some German homework. I spend the night looking up words in the dictionary while watching some Harry Potter movies.

Thursday night I was reading some blogs, and I came across a great idea of how to storage my sunglasses so it still looks cool. I found the picture on the Swedish blog Fröken Retro, and then Friday I tried it out for myself. You can see the result here

Saturday fat&fancy hit 50,000 page views, and if you follow the Facebook page, you know that I'd promised a new giveaway. So Saturday, I found the goodies, took some pictures, and you can now participate to win a cool clutch from Asos and a pair of earrings from KappAhl. Go to this post to participate - and don't forget to share :)

Also Saturday, I spontaneously decided to go for a walk in the lovely Fall weather. I took a lot of pictures for myself, but ended up putting them on the blog. If you have the same love for Fall as I have, then check out this post

So that's the very short Sunday Summary for this week.
I hope you all had a great week!

Four Things Right Now

Yesterday I posted a picture on the Facebook page, showing my bike being overloaded with things I'd just bought. I told you that I'd bought a lot of new things for a prettier home, and now they're all "up and running" so to speak. So I thought I'd show you what I bought.

Starting with this. The two small, striped boxes are new; I bought them on sale yesterday. I wasn't sure about what I would use them for, but I figured you can never have to many boxes, haha. So I bought them, and I really think they look pretty under my small table.

I actually also bought two crates; the black, wooden ones on the outer left and right in my TV table. I've been looking for something like these, so that I could hide my cd's and Playstation games away. I really think it looks super pretty, so even though the crates were a bit expensive, I think I got my money's worth.

The last thing I bought yesterday was this bathroom trolley. I have a very small bathroom and a lot of crap things, so I thought this was a pretty and cheap solution.

The last thing I wanted to show you today, is this super cute little bed stand table. I actually found by the elevator in my building where I live. It didn't look like anyone was coming to get it, so I quickly grabbed it, and now it stands beside my couch and looks pretty. The coolest thing about it was, that I've been looking for a small table I could put there. And then when I came home from a day out with the girls last Saturday, there it was - a little extra birthday surprise for me, ha-di-ha-ha :)

Sunday Summary

It's been a little quiet here at the blog for the past week. I feel like I really haven't had the time for blogging, although I have been taking a lot of pictures for the blog. But as I said, the time for blogging has been almost non-existing this week. I will try to blog a bit more next week :)

Thursday my mum came by, and she had a beautiful buke of flowers for me. See, Thursday me and my family were spending the evening together.
My birthday was yesterday and my dad's next Saturday, so we'd decided to celebrate it Thursday. My mum came by in the day, and then at around 5 my dad and grandmother also came by. I opened a couple of presents, before we headed out to eat at an Italian restaurant. Afterwards we drove back to my place, where I served coffee and opened more presents. I got a lot of nice things; among them were a new set of pots and pans for the kitchen, a new quilted couch pillow and blanket and some money. Really nice :)

Yesterday was my birthday. I'd actually planned to attend a Rockabilly party with some girlfriends in Copenhagen, but we decided to skip that since we're all a little strapped for cash. In stead, Marie and Maria came by for coffee and happy times. We drank endless cups of coffee and smoked a lot of ciggys, before we headed out to Ro's Torv and did a little shopping and grabbed a bite to eat at a restaurant. I had a lot of fun with the girls, and it was a really nice day. I came home at around 6, and then just enjoyed the evening; I lit a bunch of candles, ate a delicious dinner and then later, a little of the birthday cake that Maria had bought for me :) All in all it was a great day, and even though birthdays aren't really the same as when you were a child,
I couldn't have asked for a better day :)

So that's this weeks Sunday Summary.
Sorry that it's running a bit short - and late -
but I've picked the most exiting days this week.
The others aren't really worth mentioning ;)

The Time Of Layering Has Begun

... which it always do around the start of September, I think. Also in September, I always turn a year older. Which I actually did today.
Yes, today is my 23rd birthday, and it's been a great day. I don't really get that exited over birthdays anymore - something that goes hand in hand with becoming older, I guess. And I haven't really been exited about today either. But when I woke up this morning, I couldn't help of feeling a little special, haha. I made a pot of coffee and opened my birthday cards, and then later Marie and Maria came by. We drank a lot of coffee, smoked a lot of cigarettes and I opened my presents. Maria had made me a bunch of small presents with stuff "I always provide for her when she stops by for coffee" - her words, not mine :) She gave me a gallon of milk, some coffee beans and a pack of ciggys - and a cake! Marie gave me a vegetarian cookbook with all sorts of delicious recipes for vegetarian dishes - I'm definitely trying out those later! Then we drove to Ro's Torv, where we did a little shopping and the grabbed a bite to eat at an Italian restaurant. I only just got home a half hour ago, and now it's time for some R'n'R for the rest of the evening. We were actually supposed to go to Copenhagen and attend a big Rockabilly party at Vega, but we decided to drop that since we're all kind of light on cash at the moment. In stead we did the girls day today, and I simply couldn't have had a better day.
Cheers!

My outfit wasn't that special, but the scarf, shoes and bag and cardigan are new though.

If anyone is interested, the scarf and cardigan is from Lindex, the dress from Asos Curve, the sunglasses from H&M
and the bag and shoes are from New Look.

Sunday Summary

This past week has been one of those where you just feel it's never going to end, but then when Sunday comes, you can't quite remember what happened during the week. But I sure will try to remember, because if I don't, this will be a boring Sunday Summary :)
But as always, it all started with Monday, where I got up and went to school. But it was a very weird day for me. Since I had spend all of last weekend doing my German E-Learning homework, I was absolutely beat Monday. It wasn't that I was bored or didn't care, but I just couldn't seem to pay attention in class - though it wasn't in lack of trying. Luckily I only have classes from 11 to 1 on Mondays, so it wasn't so bad after all.

Tuesday, however, it was loads better. I had gotten a decent nights sleep and was ready for new adventures. Well, adventures may be a bit much, but I did have a good day. Tuesday is chem day, and that means time with Kasper and Maria, which is always nice. I always know that I'll be in the best mood after seeing those two, and that Tuesday was no exception. Also, Tuesday I did a DIY post on how to do a vintage inspired hairstyle with the help of a cut up hair donut. You can find the post here.

Wednesday I had the day off from school, and even though school's only been "up and running" for a couple of weeks now, I've already gotten the weekly ritual of cleaning the whole apartment on Wednesdays. So that's pretty much what I did.

Thursday was, once again, chem day. When I woke up at 6 it was pouring down, so I felt like dressing in Autumn colours. And for the first time in a very long time I finally managed to snap some pictures of my outfit and put it up on the blog. Even though I manage to blog a bit during the week, it was actually really nice to do an outfit post and posing in front of the camera once again :) The outfit post can be found here.

Friday I had the day off - well, sort of. We'd been told in advance that our teacher wouldn't attend and that we, in stead, were going to watch a movie, but that our attendance would be counted on an assignment. I had made the assignment the day before, so I chose to stay home. Side note: my absence hasn't been counted, so that's great :) Anyway, I spend the day laying low. I did some grocery shopping, went for a walk and watched a lot of Scrubs. Great day!

Yesterday, Saturday, was also pretty low key. I enjoyed the day and made myself a lot of organic apple iced tea, which I actually also did a Yum-Yum post about. Otherwise I did some more grocery shopping and was in luck. My local grocer had a sale on all sorts of different candles, and being a candle addict, I ended up buying a lot, haha. I just love this time of year when the evenings are dark and you can enjoy nights inside in a candlelit apartment. And yes yes yes, I know I say that a lot :) Oh yes, last thing: I updated the "About Me" section, so if you're curious about some of the not-so-happy things in my past, you should give it a read. BUT it has a happy ending, so it ain't all bad, haha.

That's my week in writing.
As I said, it seemed long, but now that it's over, I don't know where it went.
Have a lovely Sunday everybody!

Yum-Yum Post: Organic Apple Iced Tea

Today I'm going to show you how to make organic apple iced tea at home. It's very very very easy, and here's all you need:

1 or 2 organic apples
Organic sugar
An organic apple tea - I'm using Celestial Cranberry Apple
Hot water

Okay, let's do this!

First, you boil some water. While it's boiling in your kettle, you slice up 1 or 2 apples.

Then you put the apple slices and an apple tea teabag in the tea pot...

... and add some organic sugar. You can add as much or little as you like, or even don't use any at all if you prefer.

Pour the hot water over the sliced apples, the tea bag and the sugar into the tea pot.

Put the tea pot in the fridge for about 30 minutes to an hour...

... take it out and pour it into a glass bottle or water pitcher.

And then all there is to do is enjoy a chilled glass of home made organic apple iced tea. Of course you can also drink it as regular hot tea
- whatever you want.
And of course you don't have to use organic products; you can use regular tea, apples and sugar.

So that's it; easy peasy pie :)
Enjoy!
