Sunday Summary

This week has been lovely, as I've been with my parents in their summer home in Sweden. I took the train from Roskilde Monday morning,
and 5 hours later, I arrived at the sunny station in Växjö, Sweden. If you're curious about how the house looks, then take a look at this post.

Tuesday I spend most of the day outside. I helped my dad chopping wood, and in general just helped around. There's a lot of stuff to be done with old, wooden houses, so every time you're done with one thing, there's always something new to do. However, in the evening we had a relaxing time.
My mum had made a delicious strawberry cake, and we spend some hours in front of the telly watching a couple of episodes of Mad Men.

Wednesday we took the car for a spin, and drove to Växjö, where we did some vintage shopping. Well, my mum and I did - my dad hates going shopping with us, but then again, isn't it like that with all dads? :) Anyway, I found a couple of nice things - like a vintage ashtrey and two tea pots.
All in all it was a good day.

Friday it was, once again, pouring down. There's not much summer about this summer - at least not in Sweden. Not one day has gone by this past week, without it raining. But then again, I love rainy weather (as long as I'm inside) so it didn't bother me that much. I spend some hours down in the smithy, where I helped my dad paint cupboards, and later in the day, I once again chopped some wood.

All in all it's been a quiet and cozy week here in Sweden. Tomorrow I'm going home again.
I love being on vacation where ever, but it's still nice to come home again.
I hope you all have had a great week as well.
See you, xoxo

During Wind And Rain

Summer's on hold at the moment here in Sweden - at least for the past week or so. Not many sunbeams have broken through the dark and grey skies, so for the past few days, I've mostly been inside. But today I've been out a lot. I love rain, so I don't mind at all. I've helped my dad out in the old smithy, painting cupboards while listening to a good audiobook. The smithy lies just a few hundred meters from the house, but we still needed umbrellas for the short walk, cause it was pouring down something awful.
Still, I love rainy weather, and I can't wait for autumn to arrive.

Four Things Right Now

I've been at two thrift stores today in Växjö, where I bought two tea pots. I've been looking for a new tea pot, but today I was lucky to find two.

I also found this super cool vintage ash trey. I love the colour green, and this ash trey just has the most beautiful look with the gold and green combined.

Again this evening, my mum had made another beautiful and delicious summer cake. I just couldn't resist taking a picture of it - isn't it pretty?

And now I'm just relaxing in my bed with a couple of Swedish magazines and "Little Britain" in the background.

Two Things Tonight

It's been a long day with a lot of hard work. I've spend most of the day outside in the sometimes hot, sometimes chilly, sometimes sunny, sometimes rainy Swedish weather, where I've been helping my dad chopping wood for the winter. We managed to get a lot done in the 4 hours we were working, but late in the day it really started raining a lot, so we decided to go inside and save the rest for tomorrow. Anyway, after a day of hard work, we were due some relaxation. My mum had made a - both beautiful and delicious - strawberry cake, which we enjoyed while watching a couple of episodes of Mad Men. As you know, I'm quite a big fan of Mad Men, and for the past year I've been trying to talk my parents into watching it. Well, finally they caved and bought the first season. It's been a lovely day and evening, but now I'm really tired, so I'm off to bed!
Nighty night

I ♥ Sweden

So, as it turns out, there will be no outfit post today - and probably not for the rest of the week. Cause even though I have been all dressed up today, I'm now in my sweats - and loving it! Anyway, I got up early this morning, and took the train to Sweden. Even though it's a long trip, I kind of love taking the train to Växjö. I love just sitting in my seat, listening to a good audiobook and looking out the window. At around 3 o'clock, I arrived in Växjö, where my parents picked me up. We drove straight to the house, where I immediately changed into sweats, unpacked and then went outside in the garden.
I've been outside for a couple of hours now, but then it got kind of chilly, so now I'm inside again. But I did manage to snap a few pictures of the lovely house where I'm staying. My parents bought this house when I was 14, and I've spend every summer, winter and and some weekends up here ever since then. I hated coming up here when I was a teenager, but now, every chance I get, I travel up here. I just love everything about this place. In summer, I can relax outside in the garden, and winters are spend in front of the fireplace. Anyway, I've mentioned this house so many times now, that I thought you should see how it looks. And so here are some pictures for you:

Sunday Summary

It's been one slow week in my life, but at least I had time to find my passion for blogging once again. I've been blogging a lot this week,
but over all nothing much has happened. So this Sunday Summary might be slightly boring.
Monday I enjoyed a quiet night with a pot of tea and a couple of Harry Potter movies. That very same day I also did a post about my apartment,
and showed you all some pictures - if you didn't see it, you can find it here.

Tuesday I got up early and ate breakfast and enjoyed the morning sun. Later in the day, Maria came by, and we had the loveliest time. We drank a lot of coffee, ate some pizza and drove down to the harbor and bought ourselves some ice creams and walked on the peer a bit.
All in all it was a fantastic evening, great to see her again, and most of all to have some girl talk.

Wednesday was very boring - but I put my boredom to good use, and styled my hair in different ways. Especially one hairstyle, I liked.
It was this, and I've already had my hair like that 3 more times. Sometimes boredom is a good thing.

Thursday nothing much happened, but I had kind of a girly day. I painted my nails, took a nice foot bath, shaved my legs, teated my hair to a nice
(and might I add expensive) treatment, and so on - you girls know what I'm talking about :)

Friday and Saturday have been totally low key. I've stayed in, cleaning the apartment and doing the laundry. Further more, I've managed to watch the complete series of Sex and the City in just one week - wow, now that I'm seeing it in writing, it really has been a slow week. But sometimes a girl just needs a week off from everything. Fortunately, next week is going to be more eventful. Tomorrow I'm taking the train to Växjö in Sweden, where I'm meeting my parents, and for the whole of next week I'm staying at the vacation home. It's gonna be great to get out a little and just seeing something else that the 4 walls of my apartment.

Anyway, that's about it for now.
If everything goes as planned, there should be a new outfit post for you tomorrow.
As always, check Facebook for updates. Have a nice Sunday, ladies - and gents!
xoxo

Two Things Tonight

I wanted to show you two things tonight. First, my nails. I've seen this kind of style a million times and always liked it and wanted to try it out. And today I did. The result is not completely fantastic, but practice makes perfect. The other thing I wanted to show you is this cute plant pot. I got it a couple of weeks back when I was in Sweden with my parents. I bought it - and two more like it - at a supermarket called ICA. They were very cheap
and oh so cute. I love the nice retro rose print - it reminds me of something from another time with more class and style than what we have today.
I'm so glad I bought them, and as you can see, I've already filled them with cute flowers.
Toodely-doo!

Something New Today

Today I've been kinda bored - how could I not be, with that amazing evening I had yesterday? So between the occasional episode of Sex & The City, endless cups of coffee and a fair few cigarettes, I decided to go play a little with my hair. For so long now, I've been wanting to grow my hair out, and it's finally beginning to have some length to it. That means that there are dozens of ways to style it. And you know me; I'm a sucker for a good 'n old retro 'do'. So I found myself a bunch of bobby pins and tried out a hairstyle I'd seen on a vintage blog earlier today. I actually think it came out pretty good for a first try. It wasn't hard at all; all I needed was bobby pins, strong hairspray and some creativity.
What do you think? Is it a keeper?

Girls Night In

Late in the day, Maria came by for a visit. We haven't seen each other since the exams, which is really out of the ordinary for us.
We have kind of a "hoemance" going on - and yes, it doesn't sound that nice, but I looked up what bromance for girls is called,
and that's what Google suggested. Anyway, Maria and I have this absolutely perfect friendship, where we can talk about everything
- and I really do mean everything. So we sat down for a couple of hours and chatted vividly about everything going on in our lives,
drank loads of cups of coffee and smoked what seemed like endless cigarettes. At around 7 o'clock we drove down to the harbor and
bought ourselves a couple of ice creams, and whilst eating the delicious cold summer snacks, we strolled around, looking at all of the
boats and talked about future dreams of having fabulous parties at sea. Unfortunately I forgot my camera to document the beautiful
Danish summer weather and the good times we had.
After our stroll we bought pizza, went home and talked it up some more.
We've listened to all of my old records, and when it turned darker outside, I lit cozy candles inside.
All in all this evening has been a fantastic one. I so enjoy having a break from school!

Outfit Of The Day: Baby, It's You

For once, I got up fairly early this morning. It's a kind of rare occasion when I'm on summer break, but I woke up to a ringing phone, and in stead of going back to sleep after my phone call, I chose to get up, make my bed, make a pot of coffee, take a shower and get dressed.
Today is the first time in what seem like forever, that I got a bit dressed up. Later today Maria is coming by for a couple of hours.
I can't wait; I haven't seen Maria since the exams, and I really miss her. But she's a mum, and she has obligations at home,
where as I have all the time in the world to just do whatever I feel like. Anyway, it's gonna be so great seeing her again.
Another thing about today is, that I've really had a great morning. There's just something so nice about getting up at a decent time a day.
I've enjoyed cups of coffee, magazines and The Beatles' 'Baby, It's You' on repeat.
I hope all of you are gonna have a fantastic day as well.
xoxo

Storm's Coming

What a perfectly perfect and cozy evening I'm having. While the trees are making sounds from the occasionally hard blow of wind, I'm sitting inside and having a grand old time. This time a day (night) is my absolute favorite time - winter or summer. That time a night when it's getting dark, but the sky still has this amazing dark blue undertone. I'm sitting in my candlelit apartment, watching the 5th and 6th Harry Potter movies and I'm drinking Yogi tea.
I always drink Yogi tea. It's organic, and all of their flavors taste great. One of the best things though, are the small words of wisdom written on the tea tag. I'm soooo enjoying life right now. It's pretty great!

Home Is Where Your Hat Is

A little while back, I showed you some pictures of my apartment and all the small details that makes it feel like home.
But since I got my new couch a couple of weeks back, the apartment has undergone a lot of changes. So I thought I'd show you how it looks now.
When You live in a studio apartment it's all about being creative and using the space in a way, so it doesn't look too crowded nor to empty.
The two days leading up to my new couch's arrival, I completely decluttered my apartment.
I can't tell you how many times I went down to the basement with things I no longer had use for.
I also threw out a lot of stuff, such as my bed and my dining room chairs. Fortunately, my new couch is actually a futon,
and my parents gave me new dining room chairs, so I'm all set. It was all, however, quite a hassle, and getting the (what felt like)
200 pound heavy couch up the stairs was even worse. But now, finally, my apartment is exactly like I've always wanted it to be.
I can honestly say that I've never felt more home, than I do now.
xoxo

Sunday Summary

Hello hello hello - how you all doing this fine day? :)
I find myself repeating this every week, but that doesn't make it less true
- so once again it's Sunday, which means it's also time for the weekly summary of my life this past week :)
This week I've been avoiding taking strolls in town,
because it's that time a year, where Roskilde Festival is held
- and that means the town is crawling with happy, sunburned, kinda drunk festival guests.
In the good old days, I used to attend Roskilde Festival myself,
but with my sobriety and all, I've chosen not to go anymore.
But it still puts me in such a great mood to see all of the happy people in wellies,
strolling around town with their shades on and a beer in hand :)
Anyway, it is not, however, a great time to live in Roskilde if you aren't attending the festival yourself.
So I've stayed in doors, trying to avoid the overfilled streets and just enjoyed myself.
Monday night, after a hard workout, I spend the night in the company of the Von Trapp family :)
Yes, once again I watched Sound of Music - for what must've been the billionth time :)
I sliced up some yummy fruit, and just enjoyed life and having vacation :)

Tuesday, however, I went to the southern part of Denmark to visit my parents for a couple of days.
My mum had asked me to come visit and help her clean their gigantic house -
luckily I love love love cleaning, so it was almost like a present to get to clean every inch of their house :)

Wednesday evening, after firing up the grill and having a great time,
we took the car for a spin and drove to Marienlyst beach,
where we bought ourselves great, big, old fashioned ice-creams and went for a stroll by the ocean.
I haven't been to that particular beach since I lived at home, so safe to say it's been quite a few years :)
Funnily enough, I ran into one of my old co-workers and major crushes at the ice-cream stand.
Even though there's no feelings left, I still got so flustered seeing him,
that I immediately turned around and walked away - and, of course, tripped a bit over my shoelace :) :) :)
I don't know if he noticed or even if he recognized me, but I actually think it's a pretty fun story
- now that it's over, that is - and just thought I'd tell you.
Ah, it doesn't matter of you're 16 or 60 - old crushes can still catch you off guard, haha :)

Friday, it was once again time to go home.
My dad drove me and my mum to my place, and when he drove off to work,
my mum and I unpacked my luggage, and then went out to do some grocery shopping.
It was pouring down, but we managed to get to the shops all right. I did my shopping as usual
- milk, bread, fruit and what have you - but then as I was about to pay,
my mum sweeped in front of me and payed - ah, she's just the greatest mum ever :)
So now I have a fully stocked fridge all thanks to mum :)
After we got home and had unpacked all of the groceries, we sat down and enjoyed
a delicious breakfast and each others company.
Then we just chatted a bit, while drinking coffee and watching some episodes of Friends.
My mum left at around 2 PM - she were going to Copenhagen to meet my dad,
and together they drove up to the house in Sweden. I'm going up there in a week or two :)
Another thing I did Friday, was piercing my nose.
I did it myself, and I know some of you are thinking that that was a stupid idea.
But don't threat; I worked at a piercing shop when I was a teenager,
and I do own all of the necessary equipment for doing piercings.
I actually did have my nose, lip and ears pierced when I was a teenager
- it was a very rebellious time for me, haha ;)
But I took the last one out a little over a year ago.
But lately I've kinda missed having a subtle piercing, that still ads this kinda cool vibe.
So I found all of my piercing tools, and pierced my nose again.
I can't wait for you to see it - I love it, and if and when I get tired of it,
well, it's just a matter of taking it out again :)

Otherwise it's been a quiet weekend. Yesterday I helped my grandma assemble a wardrobe
- you know, I'm actually quiet handy, haha :)
And then I've started watching all the Harry Potter movies again. I watch a couple of movies a night,
and it's so funny, I know most of them by heart, haha.
I've actually caught myself saying the lines before the actors does :)
Well, I guess that's what 10 years of Potter does to you ;)

So that's my week in writing.
It's been a great week, and I so so so enjoy a little vacation.
Next week I have some plans with friends, but otherwise I'm just gonna relax,
drink a lot of coffee and watch even more Potter movies :)
Hope y'all had a wonderful week as well :)

Just Another Night

Evenin' sweet cherries :)
Just a quick post to let you all know, that I have a wonderful evening ahead of me.
I've sliced up some yummy fruit, and have just put Sound of Music in the dvd player :)
I love love love this movie - I've got an ongoing tradition of watching it at least once a year.
The first time I saw it was when I was 7, and I kid you not, I've watched it every year since then.
I've even danced around on the same mountain as Maria does in the opening scene of the movie
- I was on holiday in Austria when I was a kid,
and my parents treated me with a trip to the top of the mountain in Mellweg :)
I'm in love with the music, the story - and let's not forget a young and yummy
Christopher Plummer as Captain Von Trapp ;)
It's one of my all time favorite and feel good movies, and when I found it as I was going through
my dvd collection earlier, I just knew it was, once again,
time to spend another night in the company of the Von Trapp family :)

Sunday Summary

Hey hey hey you all everybody :)
Sunday is upon us once again, so here's a new Sunday Summary for you :)
Nothing much happened at the start of this week.
I've gotten this crazy sleep schedule where I go to bed at 5 in the morning, and then wake up at 12.
This is because I've been Skyping with Kasper until very late every night
- now that we both have vacation we have so much more time to just watch movies and chat all night :)

Wednesday though, something finally happened
- something I've been waiting for and saving up for, for quite a few months now.
I finally got my brand new couch, and wowi wowi wow wow, it's sooo pretty and comfy.
Due to it's size though, I had to rearrange and throw out a lot of stuff in the apartment.
But let me tell you, it looks so super fantastic now. It's like I've moved in to a brand new apartment!
So even though it was an all-day project, it was so worth it.
My apartment has never looked better, and I still catch myself
just sitting and looking around my apartment with a big grin on my face :)

Thursday I met up with the gang, and we all went to the annual graduation at our school.
It was great to see the others again, and wow, what a difference
- we were all so happy and smiling all the time.
Exams are a bitch, but when they're done, you're just so happy :)
After a couple of hours, Kasper and I went home to my place
and just enjoyed several cups of coffee and tea, while chatting about movies and everything in between :)

Otherwise it has been a quiet and relaxing weekend.
Friday I managed to get a lot of housework done, and Saturday I held kind of a "Day of Beauty"
where I washed my hair with expensive shampoo, gave myself a mani - and pedicure,
put on a face-mask (see picture below) and drank gallons of organic tea :)
All in all it has, in spite of it's slow beginning, actually been a super great week.

I hope yours was as well
- what about you; are you also enjoying summer vacay,
or are you stuck at work 5 days a week? :)
xoxo
