Hello and good evening all you lovely people.
Apologies for the gaps in posting this week, but as you know, I'm on holiday in Sweden at the moment. It's so lovely being up here, although it's not all fun and games. But threat not, it's not as bad as it sounds.
Although I've been, what seems a bit like, slaving over a lot of my German homework, yesterday I finally - finally - managed to get it all done. For the past 5 or so days, I've been reading about 70 pages in German, but I do feel I'm loads better now. And the best part is, that now that the assignments for the next 3 months are done, next time I have a due date is in February. Pretty totally awesome.
Since I've finished my homework, I had a lot more time to help my mum and dad around the house. It all looks pretty idyllic from the outside, but let me tell you; it's a lot of work! The house was build in 1915 - we think - and despite almost a 100 years have gone by, there's still no running water in the house. But we manage, and get water in town. We do, however, have electricity. That really comes in handy every minute of the day. Like today.
We have two fireplaces in this house, which basically warms up the whole house. And since we have forest as far as the eye can see, we also have wood for the fireplaces. Or do we? That wood needs to be chopped, and that's what I've been doing today. I remember "back in the day" when we didn't have electricity in the house. Not alone did I have to go without internet - scratch that - my computer (as the battery ran out pretty quick) but when we needed to do chores, like chopping wood, it needed to be done by hand. Quite a bitch. Today we have the splitter, which makes things so much easier.
And that's what I've been doing all day. With dad. However, I had a Harry Potter audiobook in my ears, so it was quite fun actually.
Tonight, however, has been loads more relaxing. My mum and dad have had the neighbours by for dinner, so I've been in my room having a lovely time - as pictured below. I've watched a couple of movies, had endless cups of coffee and cigarettes, and I've eaten a gigantic piece of blueberry cake.
All in all it's been a very nice day, and I though with my recent blogging absence, that I'd let you in on it.
Nighty night, superstars.

Something Nice This Friday Night
Yes, it is truly a nice Friday evening here in Denmark - although I know not a lot of people would agree with me on that. It has been pouring down all day, and though it annoys most people, that is what makes this my season favorite time of year (apart, of course, from Christmas). Am I right, or is there nothing as nice as just sitting inside with a cup of coffee while the raindrops drum on the window? Well, I don't think so.
I've been sick most of this week, and only just managed to go to school yesterday. Hence the lack of posts this week. So sorry for that, by the way. Anyway, just because I'm sick doesn't mean I can't enjoy myself a little. I'm currently wrapped tight in a nice and warm weaved blanket my mum made for me, I've lit a bunch of candles and Friends is on.
This is truly a lovely evening :)

... when I have coffee, cigarettes, ice water and a candlelit apartment...
... and the company of Harry Potter and the whole gang :)

Two Things Tonight: Hangover Sunday
Well, actually I don't have a hangover per se, since I don't drink alcohol.
However, today has truly been all about laying low and recovering after a fantastic night last night.
I didn't spend much money yesterday, so I thought it was okay for me to order a pizza tonight. I was actually planning on making Indian food, but I just couldn't summon the strength to get up from the couch, haha. Instead I ordered a delicious pizza, lit a bunch of candles and put some Big Bang Theory on.
Furthermore I've been rather sensible tonight. I've been looking around at the Asos website - as I often do when I'm bored - and stumbled upon these gorgeous pair of winter boots. I know it's a bit early to start getting ready for winter, but when you live in Scandinavia it's better to be safe than sorry. I've been looking for a pair of boots like these for a while now, because these kind of winter boots could look cool with the clothes I wear.
It can sometimes be a bit hard to get an outfit absolutely perfect when it's winter, since the shoes//boots often mess the whole thing up. However I think these could look rather cool and retro like, when styled correctly. I love that the boot has some heel to it, but still that it's not a real stiletto. I really can't walk in heels, and when I do, I either fall down or my feet will be sore for weeks. So these are perfect. But the best thing about them is, that they actually were on sale - almost 50% off. If that's not a bargain, I don't know what is ;) Now I really can't wait for the colder weather to arrive, so I can walk around town in my new boots!
Well, event though I've slept most of the day, I'd still say I've gotten a lot out of this Sunday :)
(Of you're interested in getting these boots, you can buy them here)

Two Things Tonight
Tonight I'm enjoying life. I've lit a bunch of candles and The Big Bang Theory is playing non-stop in the background. I just wanted to post a little somethingsomething, since it's been kinda slow here for the past week or so. But look at this nice set-up I have going on here. I bought the trey and glass bottle today, and the uber cool glass is back from my wino days. I just felt like drinking water could be a classy thing, and so I found a way to make it so.
Further more, I'm actually whitening my teeth right now. I did a post about the very same thing a couple of weeks back, but I took it off the blog fairly quick, because I was too embarrassed to show you the picture of my teeth. Anyway, the strips did work then, but unfortunately I didn't order enough to really make my smile "brighten up the place" so to speak. So last week I bought some more white strips, and they arrived today. They work amazingly, and my smile is already so much prettier. I can definitely recommend Crest 3D Whitestrips! (and no, this is not a sponsored post, haha)
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive ;)

Two Things Tonight
It's been a great day for me today. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened, but I've just been in a great mood which has lasted all day. The start of school is getting closer, and I just can't wait to get back to a normal day once again. Don't get me wrong; I love vacation time, and I am kind of "sad" that I no longer can stay up till 4, sleep till noon and drink coffee and smoke cigarettes all day. But then again, that gets sooo boring after a week or two.
But today I finally got up and did something else. I went for a walk and ended up at Ro's Torv - a shopping center here in Roskilde. Even though I didn't plan on buying anything, I ended up with a shelve for the bathroom and a new hair fascinator. Net week I'm going to a burlesque show in Copenhagen, and the dresscode is: anything but normal! I have my outfit down, but the fascinator caught my eye.
Anyway tonight I redecorated my bathroom - not that there's much I can do, but I've moved some things around, put a plant out there and assembled my new shelve (which you can't see in the picture). Now I'm enjoying the evening with a couple of delicious carrots and a cup of tea.
Nice evening to you too :)

Two Things Tonight
It's been a long day with a lot of hard work. I've spend most of the day outside in the sometimes hot, sometimes chilly, sometimes sunny, sometimes rainy Swedish weather, where I've been helping my dad chopping wood for the winter. We managed to get a lot done in the 4 hours we were working, but late in the day it really started raining a lot, so we decided to go inside and save the rest for tomorrow. Anyway, after a day of hard work, we were due some relaxation. My mum had made a - both beautiful and delicious - strawberry cake, which we enjoyed while watching a couple of episodes of Mad Men. As you know, I'm quite a big fan of Mad Men, and for the past year I've been trying to talk my parents into watching it. Well, finally they caved and bought the first season. It's been a lovely day and evening, but now I'm really tired, so I'm off to bed!

Two Things Tonight
I wanted to show you two things tonight. First, my nails. I've seen this kind of style a million times and always liked it and wanted to try it out. And today I did. The result is not completely fantastic, but practice makes perfect. The other thing I wanted to show you is this cute plant pot. I got it a couple of weeks back when I was in Sweden with my parents. I bought it - and two more like it - at a supermarket called ICA. They were very cheap
and oh so cute. I love the nice retro rose print - it reminds me of something from another time with more class and style than what we have today.
I'm so glad I bought them, and as you can see, I've already filled them with cute flowers.
Toodely-doo!
